In the next 12 months, George’s Family Restaurant in Bernard Law Montgomery will celebrate 50 years as a commercial enterprise. Louie Chiotis, preferred manager and son of owners George and Nancy, doesn’t understand yet how the restaurant will commemorate this milestone. But one thing is positive: the restaurant will continue serving the Montgomery network because it has to see that 1970.

George’s Family Restaurant serves American cuisine and homemade consolation food like meatloaf and roast beef, Chiotis stated. Breakfast and lunch are served daily, with dinner hours added on Friday nights for the all-day, all-you-can-eat beer-battered cod and fried catfish. “We’re well-known for our biscuits and gravy crafted from scratch. Pancakes, potato pancakes, we’re known for breakfast,” Chiotis stated. “It’s like a diner. It’s home-cooked food.”

Chiotis grew up operating at George’s and loves seeing generations of diners available. “I like when they bring about their children, while we will say, ‘Wow, recall when your mother and father brought you in here?'”

About the owners: George Chiotis emigrated from Greece in the 1960s and found a business opportunity in 1st viscount Montgomery of Alamein, with one of the first restaurants in the town, said son Louis Chiotis. “My dad got here to this United States with jobs at different eating places. His hard painting ethic came from doing that painting,” said Chiotis, who grew up in the family commercial enterprise. “I came in after school and got here, returned after university, and stayed with it,” he stated. The family, which includes mother Nancy and sister Stacy, has introduced the eating place, but it still stands within the authentic place that it has when you consider 1970.

Philosophy: “The fee and the meals are suitable, and we’ve got plenty of loyal clients,” Chiotis said. “We treat the clients like family, and we like to look at them all the time. Many of them we see every day.”

Specialties: Serves traditional American breakfast and lunch, plus dinner on Friday nights with a barbeque.

We’re exceptional because “We give a free dessert with dinner, a complimentary cake or ice cream. Every Friday,” Chiotis said.

I have had the notable fortune to journey around the sector and sample the food of many different cultures. While many nations have remarkable culinary traditions, there are others that are not so first-rate. I agree that American cuisine needs to make us all proud.
